avodaq AG expands the management board and announces Marc Schmidt as COO


Hamburg, 04 April 2023 – avodaq AG, IT service provider in the field of infrastructure, new work, cyber security and software development, appoints Marc Schmidt as Chief Operating Officer (COO) and thereby expands the management board with an additional member.

Together with Andreas Kusch, founder and CEO of avodaq AG, Marc Schmidt will lead the company, which has grown strongly in recent years, and further develop it as a leading digital business partner. The expansion of the executive board is an important step in the strategic development of the internationally active IT specialist.


In his new role as COO, Schmidt is responsible for the progress of the technical strategy in addition to managing the operational project and service business, software development, and the corporate IT and applications divisions. His primary goal is to provide customers with modern and secure IT solutions that deliver real added value for digitalisation. The need for modernisation and transparency of the IT infrastructure continues to grow rapidly with continuously increasing IT complexity and rising numbers of cyber-attacks.

Born in the Pfalz region, he graduated in 2008 with a degree in industrial engineering from the University of Applied Sciences Kaiserslautern. Since 2021, he has also been pursuing an Executive MBA in Business & IT at the Technical University of Munich and the University of St. Gallen. He obtained further qualifications in the context of project/service management and Cisco certifications.
In 2009, Marc Schmidt started his career at avodaq AG as an IT consultant. From 2010, he was responsible for the service business. During this time, he built up the Managed Service department and significantly increased sales by strategically acquiring new customers. Under his leadership, the software development division was created, which enabled the further automation of the company’s own business processes and solutions.

Schmidt has been reporting to the executive board since 2017 and was named authorised signatory two years later. Since then, he has been responsible for the technical strategy with his team. During this time, he achieved, among other things, the portfolio expansion in today’s core architectures. Through a consistent focus on established, future-oriented technologies, avodaq has developed into a digitalisation expert. Under his leadership, the technical areas have achieved significant growth and act as a reliable partner for customers.
