THE BACKGROUND

What is open source?

Open source goes back to the term open source software and is a model of decentralised and collaborative software development. Open source encourages improvements and stands for participation. Anyone can view the code, modify it, and contribute new ideas so that the software evolves organically.

Innovation needs collaboration! Collective knowledge moves us all forward and makes software development faster and better. There are many good examples of open source projects leading to rapid technological progress worldwide. For this reason, the movement now goes far beyond pure software development.

rescoped – Advanced solutions for leading engineers

Every day, our employees develop solutions for our customers that make them more productive and better positioned for the future. With a lot of passion, some of our developers have been privately involved in open source communities for years. They now also want to pass on their experience from a wide range of customer projects and their special technical know-how, actively help shape trends and incorporate findings into our projects.

In mid-September 2022, our open source initiative went live. We are proud to have taken this step together with our entire organization. Technicians, team leads as well as our top management are convinced of open source!

The rescoped datagrid

Based on the experience from numerous IT projects, our developers released a centralised frontend library optimised for Angular.

The rescoped datagrid is a library for data-intensive web applications. It enables the table-based presentation and high-performance manipulation of more than 100,000 data sets. The datagrid relies on rule-based configuration and handles dynamic formatting in the browser. Are you interested?
