ACI & Microsegmentation

Industry: Finance

Project duration: approx. 8 months

We developed a complete concept for modernising the existing data center for this customer from the financial sector. The aim was to achieve secure micro-segmentation that fulfils internal regulations – without downtime and with high efficiency. As part of the implementation, a Cisco ACI MultiPod fabric was introduced and existing switches were migrated from NX-OS to ACI without interruption. Communication between the micro-segments takes place via Cisco Firepower firewalls. The result is a future-proof and compliant infrastructure that not only increases security, but also boosts operating efficiency and enables flexible scalability for future requirements. At the same time, the investment in existing components could be optimally utilised.

Moving and Reconfiguring a Data Center

Due to structural changes in the colocation data center, our customer had to relocate an entire availability zone to new premises at short notice without disrupting ongoing operations. Thanks to the parallel setup and preconfigured provision of a new data center network platform based on Cisco Nexus 9000, the components could be migrated efficiently and smoothly. This not only ensured an uninterrupted migration, but also created the basis for improved operational reliability and simpler future maintenance. The migration was completed on schedule without interrupting operations – the transition was completely transparent and without restrictions for the users.

Hyperconverged Infrastructure

Our customer implemented a powerful and future-proof IT platform based on a hyperconverged infrastructure. The aim was to provide a stable and scalable environment that guarantees high performance and low latency while also allowing simple administration. Thanks to the HCI solution based on Cisco UCS, the customer can now react more quickly to new requirements, reduce operating costs and continuously improve the quality of service for its users – with full control over data protection and compliance. The platform is supported and further developed over several product lifecycles so that future challenges can also be mastered flexibly.
